Diploma Admission Process

Government Polytechnic, Gudur


1. Eligibility Criteria

  • You must have passed Class 10 (SSC) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Only eligible candidates with these qualifications can appear for the entrance test (AP POLYCET).

2. Entrance Test — AP POLYCET

  • AP POLYCET stands for Andhra Pradesh Polytechnic Common Entrance Test.
  • You must appear and obtain a valid score in this exam to qualify for diploma admissions.

Note: Candidates apply and take this exam through the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh (SBTET AP).

3. Application & Registration

  1. Register for counseling through the official admission/counselling portal specified by the APSCHE or SBTET AP (check official notifications).
  2. Fill in the application form (online) with accurate personal and academic details.
  3. Pay the application/admission processing fee as mentioned in the notification.

4. Merit, Counselling & Seat Allocation

  • Admissions are done based on your POLYCET rank/score and merit list prepared by the counselling authority.
  • Seat allocation follows merit order and reservation rules (as per Andhra Pradesh Government policies).

Once seats are allotted in counselling:

5. Document Verification & Fee Payment

  1. Report to the allotted institute (Government Polytechnic, Gudur).
  2. Get your original documents verified, including:
    • AP POLYCET admit card and scorecard,
    • Class 10 marksheet,
    • Residence/identity proofs,
    • Income/Category certificates (if applicable), etc.
  3. Pay the admission/tuition fees to confirm your seat.

6. Course & Duration

  • Government Polytechnic, Gudur offers 3-year full-time diploma courses in disciplines like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, and Mining Engineering.
  • Courses follow the curriculum of the State Board of Technical Education and Training with English as the medium of instruction.
