Admission Process

1. Direct Entry into First Year (I Year)

Admissions are governed by the Department of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh, in accordance with the rules and regulations prescribed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Admissions into Government Polytechnic, Gudur are based on the ranks obtained in POLYCET, a common entrance test conducted every year by DTE / SBTET-AP.

Eligibility: Pass in SSC (10th Class) or equivalent examination.

The leftover seats, if any, are filled through Spot Admissions at the institute level, as per Government guidelines, through a separate notification.

2. Lateral Entry into Second Year (III Semester)

Admissions under lateral entry are limited to 10% of the sanctioned intake of each Diploma programme.

  • Students who have completed relevant Intermediate Vocational Course (IVC) and passed the Bridge Course as prescribed by SBTET-AP.
  • Students who have completed relevant ITI trade and passed the Bridge Course as prescribed by SBTET-AP.
